Dr. Casen shares what to expect at our breast thermography experience at The Drugless Doctors.

“Thermography is a painless, non invasive, state of the art clinical test without any exposure to radiation and is used as part of an early detection program which gives women of all ages the opportunity to increase their chances of detecting breast disease at an early stage. It is particularly useful for women under 50 where mammography is less effective.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cost?

The first breast thermography session is $250, which includes a consultation with one of The Drugless Doctors post-thermography to create an optimal breast health strategy.

Who should receive breast thermography?

Anyone who is looking to have an assessment to monitor function in your body.  This is true especially for females age twenty-three and up. It is also a useful idea to annually receive a breast thermography assessment.

Who should not get breast thermography?

a. Women who are pregnant or are breastfeeding. Please wait three months after you have stopped breastfeeding.

b. Individuals who are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation. Please wait three months after your procedure has finished.

Does insurance cover this assessment?

Currently, most medical insurances will not reimburse for this procedure. However, payment options include self-pay, health savings, or flexible spending accounts.

Will breast thermography show if I have breast cancer?

Thermography is a functional assessment, and it detects temperature changes in breast tissue over time which may indicate neovascularity or lymphatic issues. The information collected in the scan is sent to a board-certified thermologist who creates a customized report for your healthcare provider to review with you. If there is something suspicious that shows up on your scan, the healthcare provider will discuss with you at your follow-up consultation.

Why do I need a follow-up consultation?

All breast thermographies include a consultation to review your results. This allows the doctor to examine the assessment and create a personalized plan just for you.

Will the camera or doctor be touching me during the assessment?

There is no touching required during this test. The test itself is performed by a female and is non-invasive and painless.

How long does it take to get the results back?

Many times it can take anywhere between 1-3 weeks to get the results back.

What happens if I can’t make the second scan at the three-month mark?

Please do everything you can to make this appointment, since this scan helps create your baseline.

What do I do if I have additional questions?

Bring your questions written down to the follow-up consultation that way the doctors can adequately answer them for you.

Breast Thermography Testimonials

“I've been going to The Drugless Doctors for almost a year. I can truly say making the first appointment with them was one of the best things I've done for myself & daughters. Seeing the difference in films & breast thermography has been eye opening.”
- T. W

“My breast thermography with Dr. Casen was both pain-free and stress-free! She made my experience very pleasant overall with her kindness and professional manner. She took great care to make me feel completely comfortable during this relatively short and simple procedure. My experience in the past with standard mammograms was never good and always painful – this was like a breath of fresh air!  I would highly recommend a thermography to all of you ladies out there!”
